I never break the Food Diary into parts. But I think Day 10 is my only India post broken up into parts. And my Day 10 dining could easily be broken into parts matching the parts of the day. You’ll see. So…
I skipped breakfast in the morning because I got a late start to the day and I needed to make up lost time after my delayed arrival in Rishikesh on Day 9.
It took me a while to find my lunch spot, and I was thrilled to finally arrive at The 60s Cafe, also known as Beatles Cafe. Rishikesh is where the Beatles came in 1968 to get all spiritual. This fun restaurant pays tribute to their visit and the spirit of the 60s. It has beautiful views of the Ganges too.

Day 9 felt like a disaster when it began. I comforted myself at bloomsrooms with a traditional American breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast.
When I got to Rishikesh several hours later, I was ready to dig in to some yummy vegetarian food. As Rishikesh is a holy Hindu city, it is vegetarian by law. (Vegetarian, not vegan.)
I was starving when I checked into the fabulous Ganga Kinare. I chowed down on rice, bread & butter, and strawberry & blueberry yogurt. That was to tide me along until I had dinner that night.
Dinner was a casual affair. I had a grilled cheese, followed by a veggie cutlet with fries.
Day 9 was quite a day. It was the day I felt like India finally defeated me. But it also the day I reached nirvana.
