I started off my day in the village of San Lorenzo de El Escorial with a Spanish classic–churros and chocolate. (It wasn’t until Day 12 that I had the most classic of the classic.)
After touring the Royal Site of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, I had lunch at 1 of the countless outdoor dining spots in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. It had been a minute since I had gotten croquettes on my trip, so I got some croquettes to start off with. Ham, I believe. That delicious Iberian ham. And what better way to have croquettes than with fries!
For the main course, I chose the breaded filet of beef. And what was extra special about it? More fries!
I had a light dinner back in Madrid that evening known particularly for cod. And what did I get? More croquettes? Cod?
And what’s this? Dessert? Or more fried food? Fried cod? Were the croquettes cheese? I think I basically had fried food all day long. Yum!
