Southwest Asia is better known as the Middle East. I learned at the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore that the term “Middle East” is Eurocentric, referring to the region in relation to Europe, rather than its location within Asia. Whatever you call it, I really felt like the region was a very different world when I visited in 2013.
