San Francisco 2017, Day 3, Part 1

The Zoo and the Beach

For the 3rd consecutive day of sightseeing, I headed out to the western part of San Francisco.  To start off the day, I took the L train of the San Francisco Muni its entire length, from the Embarcadero all the way out to the zoo, in the southwest corner of San Francisco.  This was unfamiliar territory for me.

Starting right off with cuteness, this prairie dog determines, correctly, that it's going to be a beautiful day. San Francisco, United States, North America.

The San Francisco Zoo is far from the world’s greatest zoo.  But it’s a worthwhile take-in nonetheless.  It’s filled with cute and ferocious animals.  (Usually they’re not both cute and ferocious though.)

The Komodo dragon is cute in its own way, I suppose. And it really reminds of my visit to the Singapore Zoo. (Now the Singapore Zoo is AMAZING!) San Francisco, United States, North America.

And of course the red kangaroo is going to remind me of my trip to Australia! San Francisco, United States, North America.

Now things get a little ferocious.

Okay, I think we’re back to cute now.

China Beach

Just like at Baker Beach in 2016, I couldn't get over this view of the Golden Gate Bridge I'd never seen before. Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, United States, North America.

From the zoo in the southwest corner of San Francisco, I took the bus up to the northwest corner of San Francisco.  Across the Great Western Wilds, as I call them.  It was time to take in some views.  I had heard a bit about China Beach, but I knew nothing about it.  So I decided to start the next part of the day there.  I think it was a good choice!

China Beach was just a taste of what was to come in Part 2.  Brace yourselves!  But first…

Lincoln Park

From China Beach, I walked uphill to Lincoln Park.  To be honest, when you get to that area I don’t know where Lincoln Park ends and Lands End begins.  Maybe they’re one and the same.  All I know is that the Lincoln Park Golf Course is on the eastern end of the area, where I first arrived from China Beach.  So Lincoln Park it is!

Surely you must know by now how much I love beautiful floral landscaping. San Francisco, United States, North America.
