My trip to Southeast Asia in 2012 was my first full-on sightseeing experience in Asia and my first time in Asia since I was in the Navy in the late ’80s. It was during the Navy years that I got to spend some time in the endearing Philippines. Singapore and Malaysia are great places to visit for any English-speakers. And the food can’t be beat. I had one day (one afternoon, really) in Indonesia. It was utter chaos, and very memorable.
