Midday during my wanderings around Mendoza, I got a very important snack–an alfajor. Alfajores are cookie-like treats covered in chocolate. They are popular throughout Latin America and originated in Spain. Getting 1 was 1 of the culinary goals of my trip. I got a lemon-flavored 1.

Now that I’d had dessert, I grabbed some lunch–a veggie omelet. I have zero recollection of getting this omelet during the day. It looks a little flat but half decent though, doesn’t it? Based on the shadows, it looks like I may have eaten outside.

Then there was dinner. I definitely remember getting dinner that evening. But I remember I didn’t particularly enjoy it. That was completely different from the dinner I had the night before. The service was extremely to begin with. Then when my main course came out, it had 2 fried eggs on top. Definitely not what I was expecting and certainly not what I wanted. The meat might have been beef or veal. I’m not sure. It had me pining away for the previous night’s mouth-watering tenderloin.

Dessert doesn’t look too bad. Based on the time stamp on the pictures on my phone, dessert came over an hour of the main course. And it’s the same tablecloth, so it had to be the same restaurant and not something I got later on. But I also remember it took me a while to get through the main course because I didn’t enjoy it.

Oh well, onward and upward.
