I began the day in Chile–Santiago, to be specific. My nourishment for the day began with the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Around midday, I got a snack at one of the food outlets at the border crossing between Chile and Argentina, high up in the Andes. I finally had a really satisfying meal that evening after arriving in Mendoza, my 1st stop in Argentina.
For the starter, I got provoleta. Provoleta is an Argentinian variety of provolone. It’s cooked in a cast-iron pan. I used to get it at an Argentinian restaurant when I lived in West Hollywood. You can tell by the picture it doesn’t look healthy at all, but it’s so tasty!

On my 1st night in Argentina, could I get anything other than an Argentinian steak for the main course? And nothing but the best steak, of course. I got the tenderloin, with a side of mashed potatoes. So simple. So spectacular!

Just like with the Andes, little needs to be said. The food speaks for itself!
