On my 2012 Southeast Asia trip, I took a quick ferry ride from Singapore to the Indonesian island of Bintan. It was a chaotic place, but I found solace in a welcoming Buddhist temple. I dream about returning to Indonesia and doing a thorough exploration of Hindu paradise of Bali and heavily populated Java.
